On arrival training - my experience

After I almost missed the train, slept a little and looked at the beautiful landscapes of Slavonia, I arrived in Orahovica and met young people from other countries who volunteer in Croatia.  Volunteers Sara and Biserko told me that it would be a great experience, but they had each other there, and I was alone with 14 people whom I was seeing for the first time in my life.  I questioned all my life actions and decisions and wondered why I needed all that in my life.  To put it mildly, I was nervous. But, little by little, the nervousness turned into excitement and finally into an incredible experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. I met people from Turkiye, Spain, France, Poland, Italy, Palestine, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, and none of them understood how it is that I speak Bosnian, but I understand Croatian and have no communication problems, so I got the opportunity to give a lecture about my culture.  Among other things, they learned that burek is made only with meat, so my lecture was very successful.
The lectures were very interesting, and we had the opportunity to go through a lot of practical activities and thus have fun.  Our lecturers were excellent and thanks to them and their energy we were not too tired at the end of the day, so after the lecture we still hung out and talked about our experiences in Croatia. The food and accommodation were excellent and, most importantly, the pool was open so we took advantage of that and enjoyed morning and evening swimming.  The days were filled with activities and passed too quickly. On the last day, we were all a bit sad because we were parting ways, but we exchanged numbers and stayed in touch.  A few weeks have passed since then, and we who are in Zagreb see each other often and have many plans for the upcoming days of our volunteering. This was a unique and wonderful experience for me and I am very proud and happy to be a part of this project.
