Dear Readers,
today I went with Zoe to Maksimir Park to collect leaves for the next DIY workshops. We‘ve been at the park for the first time and were super impressed. Brigita gave us the tip to check out the park; it was worth it! It was a beautiful, sunny autumn day, and we had the best time walking around the lakes and looking for materials we could use for zero-waste DIY projects. And of course doing a photoshoot at all the beautiful places, which were a lot.
Tomorrow, Thursday is Kino Klub Day. Last Thursday was really nice. We had some lemonade and sweets and watched a french movie. It was very cozy. After I asked them for feedback on the movie and they said they enjoyed it and how they were looking forward to the next time.
I often visited the English Classes in the past weeks and played games with the students. I usually played a game called „Phase 4“. You sit in the Circle and everyone writes down a few words on a piece of paper and puts it in a bowl (it can be anything).
Phase 1: Explain
In Phase 1 you draw a piece of paper from the bowl and explain it to the person sitting next to you (Like in Taboo). You do that in a row until all the pieces of paper are explained.
Phase 2: Explain again! But only with one word
All the terms are put back into the bowl. In this phase, the terms are explained again but here you only have one (1!) word to explain the term! Sounds difficult? It is, but you have already heard each term in phase 1, so a well-chosen word can quickly be used to guess the term you are looking for. This phase also ends as soon as the bowl is empty.
Example: The term "oven" is to be guessed and the word "pizza" is named.
Phase 3: Pantomime
All the terms are put into the bowl again. In the third phase, the terms are in pantomime. Since you have already heard the terms twice, this can usually be done relatively well and quickly.
Phase 4: Noise
All the words are put back into the bowl. Each word must be represented by a sound. Sometimes this is almost impossible, but since you are starting to know the terms, you can still guess them with a lot of imagination. This phase also ends as soon as the bowl is empty.
